Top Gear magazine awarded the Porsche 911 Turbo S the coveted title ‘Performance Car of the Year’ in its annual Awards ceremony on  2 December.

The enduring sports car icon impressed judges with its breathtaking performance, day-to-day usability and innovative technology. Top Gear Editor Jack Rix commented, “Porsche 911 Turbos have always been stupid fast, but this one is stupid entertaining, too. It’s now a proper driving machine. Fun in a way no previous 911 Turbo has ever been. Such a complete car on the road and the track.”

The twin-turbocharged 911 Turbo S with its flat-six engine and all-wheel drive, delivers 650 PS with a maximum torque of 800 Nm. The sprint from 0-62 mph takes a mere 2.7 seconds and there is a top speed of 205 mph to be enjoyed.*

The latest Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) and standard Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control (PDCC) enhance driving dynamics and stability, whilst Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes (PCCB), also fitted as standard, reigns in that awesome power when needed.

In addition to ‘Performance Car of the Year’, BBC TV Top Gear presenter, Chris Harris, singled the model out for his personal commendation ‘Car of the Year’.
